About sophie

Picture
Sophie (aka “Kitty”) is a highly creative and deeply kind little girl who was born in Boulder, Colorado, in 2004.  She lives in a house atop a mesa with her mom, dad, and dogs Singer and Tussle.  She used to have a beloved mouse named Ilsa, whose image is used when drawing Anonymouse on her notes.

Sophie is an avid reader who enjoys all genres, including historical fiction, fantasy, legends, and drama.  She is also an expressive writer of adventure stories involving her friends, all manner of animals, and imaginary worlds.  With her fine imagination and passion for bringing stories to life, she co-creates and acts in numerous plays with her good friends Elle and Sierra.

Sophie, then seven years old, began writing secret notes to the school janitor, librarian, and teachers expressing appreciation for their hard work.  After completing her first note she asked her mother how to spell the word ‘anonymous’.  Joking around her mom spelled out “Anonymoose”, then “Anonymouse”… and a kindness superhero was born!  Sophie continues to bring sunshine into the lives around her with her good deeds.

Sophie hopes you will tell her about your Anonymouse deeds, and join her on her mission to create a kinder, more gentle world in which to grow up.  Post your good deeds here and you might hear back from Sophie!

About natalie

Picture
Through a series of unfoldings, Natalie Lynn Rekstad is exactly where she is supposed to be as the Founder & Chief Catalyst of Black Fox Philanthropy, a role she considers sacred as both a vocation and avocation

Natalie’s philanthropic journey started when she was very young.  As a third grader, Natalie watched a filmstrip about starving children in Africa.  Fueled by compassion, she staged two backyard fundraising fairs to collect money for African relief. The altruistic 8-year-old solicited neighborhood stores for donations of prizes, junk food and soda, and the neighborhood kids flocked to the events.  Proceeds amounted to about $10, which she sent to Africa through a US-based nonprofit.  For Natalie, it was a profound realization that she had the power to make things happen for others in need.

Frustrated by having a heart much larger than her checkbook, Natalie is leveraging her three paths as a corporate executive, nonprofit founder and leader, and philanthropist to have profound impact by founding a philanthropy consulting firm, Black Fox Philanthropy (BFP). BFP offers a focused array of services from advising individuals on conscious giving to creating innovative, powerful fundraising strategy for nonprofits. The work is challenging, but the challenge only invigorates and engages Natalie’s strengths as a strategist, and thinking so far outside of the box, she quips “what box?”

A far cry from her childhood backyard fair days, Natalie never loses sight of that altruistic young girl. Her innovative thinking constantly shatters norms, resulting in exponential impact.  Painfully aware of the overwhelming amount of work to be done in the world, Natalie is an impassioned idealist unafraid to not only dream of a better world, but to make it happen.
